Showers for Easton and a Nursery Glimpse

A few weeks ago, Trinity threw a shower for little Easton! Unfortunately, it turned out to be a horrible weekend for most people so it ended up being a pretty small get-together. However, it was still a lot of fun and he got some really cute stuff! I was so glad too. We have been in desperate need of all things blue! :) Thanks to my great hostesses for their efforts in putting the shower together! I had a great time!

My super cute cake. It was yummy!

Me, as of about 3 weeks ago.

Opening gifts

The very next weekend, we had a family get-together at my aunt's house in Carthage. All the guys worked outside since my grandmother has recently moved out to my aunt's land, while all us girls stayed inside and had a baby shower! Lots of my aunts, cousins, mom and grandmother where all there! We enjoyed some yummy snack foods and amazing tiny little cakes! Ugh...it was so good!! I got lots more fun boy stuff and had a fabulous day! After the shower, we spent the rest of the day hanging out at the pool, fishing in the pond, grilling, watching the Ranger game and simply enjoying each other's company! What a great day!

My cousin crocheted this. Awesome, right?! She can crochete all kinds of baby things so if you need something, let me know!!

Monogrammed blanket. Ranger's material was on the other side!

I plan on doing a seperate post on Easton's nursery once it is complete. But for now, here is a picture of his bedding. Once I get the bumper pad, it will be finished!

30 weeks!

Yesterday, I visited Dr. Harris for my 30 week appointment. My, oh my, time has really flown with this pregnancy and I can hardly believe that we are staring the home stretch square between the eyes! I suppose I have 10 weeks till my due date, but since I've never seen 40 weeks before, I can't imagine doing it this time either. My guess is that I probably have anywhere from 6-8 weeks left. At my visit, Dr. Harris told me that my belly was definetely growing and she would like to do a sonogram at our next visit to get an idea on how big Easton may be getting! The consensus between a lot of people so far, has been that he may be my bigger baby,so Im grateful that she is going to watch it for me. Besides, Im very excited to get another sneak peek at him! Here are a few updates on how this pregnancy is going:

-I failed my one hour glucose test and barely passed my three hour one. I do NOT have gestational diabetes and do NOT have to check my blood sugar levels. However, there was enough of an abnormality that she has suggested I watch my sugar intake. So Im avoiding excessive sweets and trying not to go crazy on carbs!

-I have only gained 19 pounds so far and I am so excited about this! My weight gain has been much slower this go-round and everyone tells me that what I have gained, just seems to go straight to my belly!Im still on a good track to end this pregnancy with a smaller weight gain than I did with the girls!

-experienced some swelling in my feet on two occasions but it went away both times!

-Braxton Hicks are increasing in frequency and becoming more uncomfortable

-I have a lot of soreness and pressure

-sleeping has become more difficult

-enjoying lots of movement from this little guy and really trying to savor every moment of these last weeks!

-pre-registered at ETMC

-almost done with his nursery

Easton, we are so excited to meet you and look forward to how our lives will change with your addition! I know that our family will only be better with you in it!

Our Weekend

We have had a great couple of days! Our pastor at church is from the Houston area and is a big Astros fan. So he decided to take a big church group to the ballpark to see the Rangers/Astros match-up this weekend. On Friday, 77 of us went to the game and it was a blast. Our family are HUGE Ranger's fans and we had not been since I was just a few weeks along in my pregnancy with Brooklyn. My parents rode with us and we started off the night in Arlington eating at Saltgrass....yum! We then parked as close as we could to the ballpark and I began the longest walk EVER!

I've never been to a ballgame this far along in my pregnancy and it was quite the experience! Since we were such a big group that all sat together, we sat up in the upper deck on the first base side. However, it was shaded from the beginning and there was a consistent breeze so it was great! We enjoyed a Ranger win, some super sweet cotton candy (Maddie's request) and followed all that up with a greeat firework show set to some of my favorite songs of the 80's! And to top it off, our girls were amazing! I could not have been more proud of their behavior and how they endured the long night! Luckily, Brooklyn is a cuddler and enjoyed sitting in our laps. She even let a fellow church member rock her to sleep for about 30 minutes or so. She laughed and clapped and really soaked in her first Ranger's game! Maddie enjoyed each time her favorite player got up to bat (Nelson Cruz) and sang along with David Murphy's entrance song, since she has begun learning the words to Christian music we play! They both loved the fireworks and it was such a fun night! We didn't get home till 1:30am but the girls (already asleep) transitioned into their beds perfectly! It was a great night!

Maddie in her seat!

Brooklyn sat with Nana and Papaw for a while but as soon as she realized we had cotton candy, she started yelling at me to give her some!

Maddie and her crush-Rhett. She has already asked him if he would be her husband and he said No! Haha....she even cried! Maybe one day he'll enjoy all that love she keeps sending his way!

Fireworks

Today, we celebrated Father's Day! Maddie and I made daddy a Pinterest inspired card and he loved it (especially since he has quite the sweet tooth!) I wrote out the words and she taped the candy at the appropriate spots. I also got him some of his favorite cologne and am cooking him a special dinner tonight! He's currently in his Ranger's pajamas, watching the game and drifting in and out of sleep. :)  My girls are so lucky to have such a loving and hands-on dad and I am lucky to have married a man that works extra hard to provide for us so that I can be at home with our kids while they are little! We love you Jaime!

Maternity Shoot

My cousin has a great camera and we like to play around with pictures quite often! She convinced me to do some belly pictures today. It was a little out of my comfort zone (particularly for a bare belly shot) because I have awful stretch marks. However, Im grateful that I did it because a few turned out well and luckily she touched up my "battle scars" slightly so they didn't appear to be so bad!

Tomorrow, I'll officially be in my third and final trimester! I can hardly believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone by. I am so anxious as we approach this final stretch of pregnancy and can't wait to see how the addition of a little boy is going to change our family! I can only imagine that it's going to be great!
