NICU trip
Yesterday, Jaime and I took HG back to the very NICU she was treated at, one year ago. This time, we arrived with a much healthier baby! We formed great relationships with many of our nurses and they all keep up with Haylee's progress on Facebook. But we really wanted to let them see her in person! Many of them are currently on maternity leave at the moment, but we were able to visit with Ms. Geri! So thankful for the role all the nurses, doctors and respiratory therapists played in our life. We are forever grateful!

Remembering-One Year Later
On this day, last year, Haylee was admitted into the NICU and treated for newborn meningitis. It was a very scary time in our life. She was only 8 days old when she got sick. Today, I'm reflecting on that time but also rejoicing over her healing! He is faithful!

District Champs
The week of Haylee's birthday, was super busy for us! Maddie's tball team was undefeated going into the playoffs and we spent a few nights in Athens with her! The championship games were the same day as HG's party so we stayed behind for that and Maddie rode with her coach to go help the team. We received text updates throughout the day and got pictures sent since we couldn't be there! Way to go Lady Wildcats....they won it all! So proud of those girls and my favorite #7! It's been fun being a sports mom!! Love you Maddie-girl!
Haylee's Sunshine Party
On June 6th, we had Haylee's first birthday party. It was the "you are my sunshine" theme and I was so pleased with how things turned out! I'm using the colors and decor for Haylee's room when we build, too!!
There were more people than usual for one of our kids birthdays, but it was really important for us to celebrate her life with our closest friends and family!
It was pretty simple. There were some snacks and lemonade, the customary picture to be signed, cake and presents. To my surprise, Haylee got messy with her cupcake and I let her enjoy it as much as she wanted! Mommy and daddy opened gifts for her and she got lots of cute stuff! I can't wait to tell her stories and show her pictures of her first birthday party! Lots of people came by to show their love and support and we are so thankful! It was a fun day for us!
Haylee Grace Turns ONE!!!
On June 2nd, my baby girl turned a year old! It was a day I had been dreading (yet equally looking forward to) since the moment she was born! Unless a miracle occurs, Miss Haylee is our last baby and there have been many emotions that have accompanied that decision. My heart will mourn this transition time for a while, I'm sure. I've loved each moment of the pregnancy/baby phase! The Lord has given me a sweet gift though! Since Haylee is delayed on some milestones, we spend much more time being able to cuddle and love on her as a "baby" instead of chasing around an impending toddler! He knows just what my heart needs and I'm grateful! :) Here are some fun facts about our baby girl now:
-weighs 22lbs (85th%) and 90th% on height. She continues to be our "squishy" and mama loves those rolls!
-wears some 12 month clothes but mostly 18 month
-eats table or graduate foods. You are a great eater! One of your favorite things right now is avocado! Has 6 teeth!
-nurses in the morning and at night. Drinks whole milk from a sippy during the day or apple/prune juice with miralax to help constipation. She's the baby I've nursed the longest and I'm so proud!
-takes a morning and afternoon nap. Sleep at night has been disrupted with ear infections. Tubes are set for Friday and I'm praying that helps!
-therapy occurs once a week and she's made huge progress. Her core muscles are much stronger and she's figuring out movement. We now find you sitting up in your bed after nap ends! You also can figure out how to move around from one place to the next. Crawling should be soon!
-we do patch therapy for your weak eye and you are doing great. Fingers crossed...we may not need surgery!
Haylee...you are such a sweet girl! Words can't express how much I love you! Happy birthday, baby girl!
